Our vision for missions is to equip churches, leaders, and cultures to be all God designed them to be by embracing the gospel of Jesus Christ, discovering how to maximize gifts and talents and living out a Biblical Worldview.
THE MINISTRIES WE SUPPORT:
Impacting the world around us is one of the greatest things we can do as a church. As part of the community of the Tri-Cities, Christ Fellowship wants to be more than just another building. We want to move out from our walls and into the streets to serve the needs of our world.
With your tithes and offerings, these are the organizations that we have committed to support by providing consistent monthly financial support:
Kingsport Community Ministry Center is a multi-church ministry that addresses the emergency financial needs of individuals and families within our community. KCMC helps people in crisis. KCMC is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM until noon. Contact Information: 601 Holston Street Kingsport, Tennessee (423) 378-3722 .
Homelessness is a problem that local schools have to face on a daily basis. It’s hard to educate a student when he doesn’t have a home. Friends and Neighbors initially began as a response to this dilemma. Its goal is to help equip the parents of these students with life changing skills and opportunities. The mission of Friends and Neighbors is to prevent and reduce homelessness in Kingsport by participation in and collaboration with every level of government, faith- based organizations, service providers, and the private sector in order to maximize the effectiveness of the entire community.
Families Free is a faith-oriented, community based organization operating in the Northeast Tennessee region. They offer services to women currently or formerly involved in the criminal justice system, along with their families, families impacted by incarceration and families with children at risk for going into the foster care system. They provide quality, evidence based services combined with the faith-based principals of compassion, healing and restoration to promote positive life style changes for our communities at-risk and often overlooked populations.
Overcoming pain, problems and addictions can seem like an uphill battle when you’re facing them alone. Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered, 12 step biblically based recovery program for individuals and their families who are dealing with emotional distress and need healing power in their lives. Celebrate Recovery meets weekly at Christ Fellowship on Mondays at 6pm.
|Kingsport Young Life is a ministry to high school kids in the greater Kingsport area. Because kids don’t care how much you know till they know how much you care, Young Life leaders show they care by going where kids are, meeting them as they are and believing in who they can be. Kingsport Young Life’s Mission Statement is to give every teenager between the grades of six and twelve in the greater Kingsport area the chance to hear the gospel in a clear, attractive way in order that they might then decide to begin a relationship with God by following Jesus Christ.|
Exit 611 Ministries is a volunteer based outreach program to some 1,800 inmates housed at the Sullivan County jail and the Washington County detention center. Isaiah 61:1 says that “He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.” Weekly chapel services are held where inmates are encouraged to actively pursue a life dedicated to Christ.
Other Ministries and Organizations we have supported in the last year include:
