See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. Isaiah 43:19

If you’ve spent years trying to measure up, performing for God’s approval, or white-knuckling your way through religious obligation—take a deep breath. God is not disappointed in you. He never has been.

“Gospel” means “good news.” But the gospel you grew up with might have focused on sin and salvation: You are a sinner and need a Savior. That’s true, but it’s not really great news. If we stop there, we miss the breathtaking good news that changes everything.

Here’s what religion leaves out: There is nothing you could do to make God love you more. And there is nothing you could do to make Him love you less. His love for you is an everlasting love that never diminishes. He’s not disappointed in you and never withholds His Presence or love. It’s always flowing fully. It would sweep you away if you got in the full stream of it. That truth alone should cause you to take a deep breath of relief.

But there’s even more! God didn’t just save you from something (the part of yourself that is drawn to wander away or perform). He’s inviting you into something amazing. He wants you to live in His Kingdom now—not someday after this earth. Joy, peace, love, hope, abundance… Heaven on earth. This might be the part of the gospel you were missing: You are fully loved, and you are invited into a life that is fully alive.

When we truly grasp how deeply God loves and accepts us, everything shifts. We’re no longer dragging ourselves through obligation or living under the weight of religious rules. Instead, we joyfully lay aside everything the world offers and run toward Jesus and His ways—not because we should, but because His path is one of delight and life.

This new thinking is springing up. Can you see it? We are in a new spiritual era where the old way of thinking (that God is mad at us) won’t serve us anymore. God is calling us to live as His dearly beloved children in the abundance of His kingdom. Do you have eyes to see?

Prayer
God, open my eyes to see the new thing You’re doing. Help me rest in Your complete love for me and step into the abundant life You’re offering. What do you want me to know about Your love for me? What is one thing You’re inviting me to lay down today so I can follow You with joy?
