Driven by a heart for discipleship, the Ball family is actively engaged in serving international and marginalized communities both stateside and abroad. Through their shared-passion for hospitality and spiritual development, they are leveraging their home and family as a vehicle for spiritual exploration and growth. Each year, hosting a continual stream of people from all over the united states and around the world, and in some cases offering housing for a season – they are convinced the most fertile soil for spiritual formation is found within the safe and nurturing environment of a home setting.
They are currently stationed in Myrtle Beach, SC, where they are serving alongside Youth With A Mission (YWAM) and helping to develop and expand its local and global impact. This particular YWAM base has the specific focus of equipping and sending out workers to the difficult places of the world such as Northern India and the Middle East – the places where few are willing to go yet have the greatest need.
They themselves periodically serve as a family in these difficult places. Most recently, spending several months working in Northern Iraq among Muslim and Yazidi refugee’s who were displaced due to the ongoing conflict with ISIS.
During the summer months, the Ball’s tirelessly serve among the 2,000+ international students who come to Myrtle Beach each year from all over the world on work visas. Unfortunately, these students are taken advantage of by landlords and employers, and worse, are brazenly targeted by human-traffickers.
Through advocacy, emergency housing, and ongoing discipleship efforts in their home, the Ball’s are passionately serving these students and making the most of this unique opportunity for them to know Jesus during their time here in the states.
