In 1990 more than 1,000 local volunteers (both skilled and non-skilled) came out to help construct the giant wooden castle playground at Johnson Elementary, which has been enjoyed by many in our community since then. Due to age, the playground has been torn down and a new reimagined version is soon to be built. Whether you are a skilled craftsman or just wanting an opportunity to improve our community, you can help by becoming a volunteer to make the castle a reality. We need individuals and groups that are willing to provide support and labor to construct the Castle over a 5-day building period. Playground construction will take place between March 5-10, 2019. Each day is broken into three shifts (1st Shift: 8 a.m.-12 p.m., 2nd Shift: 12:30-4:30 p.m., 3rd Shift: 5-8:30 p.m.) and lunch and dinner are provided for all volunteers.
